MLA Format Overview

Heading

The top of the first page should include your name, teacher's name, course and date.  The heading is double-spaced and sits in the top left corner.

 

In-Text Citation

In-text citations give credibility to your paper or presentation.  Also, in-text citations help the reader locate the original source of the information. It connects with your Works Cited page.

Spacing/Page Format

Make sure your paper has the following format - 

Double-spaced

Page numbers in the top right header (Use the Header format and enter page number)

12 pt font

Optional fonts: TImes New Roman, Arial or Calibri 

Works CIted

Creating a Works Cited page in MLA Format can be done easily with Noodletools.  If you choose not to use Noodletools, you will need to follow specific guidelines for creating a Works Cited page.
