Database & Research Help

Access our databases here.  If you need help using our databases, finding material via a database, or figuring out which database is best for students to use when researching for your class, we are here to help with that.

Books!

Teachers have access to our entire book collection for leisure reading or teaching purposes.  Search our online catalog here.  Library staff must retrieve items for teachers.

How to place holds:

  • Click "Login" in the upper-right corner of the screen.  This is now a single sign-on, so you should be logged in automatically.
  • Search for item(s) you would like.
  • Once found, click "Place Hold."  The pick up location should default to BVSW's library.
  • Click "Place Hold" to confirm.
  • Library staff will notify you when item is ready to pick up.

In addition to print books, teachers have access to eBooks and eAudiobooks through BV libraries.  Access that catalog here.

How to login:

  • Click "Login"
  • Library card ID is your staff ID number (found on your badge) plus 9 and enough 0s to create 10 digits.  example:  9000551234  (Confused? Contact the library and we will let you know what your ID is)
  • PIN:  last four digits of your primary home phone number as listed in HR records
    • For example, if my phone number is 913-555-1234, my PIN would be 1234

Learning Resources

Digital Breakouts and Zoom Breakouts are available.  Contact Liz if you are interested in using this resource with students.

We can create LibGuides for your class in order for students to have a "one-stop shop" for information and resources they need when completing a project. Click here to see an example LibGuide.  This can be a direct link in your Canvas assignment/module.

Johnson County Library has a wide variety of resources available for free; all you need is a library card.  Need a library card?  Click here.
