 What is the problem?

I'm in studenct council and we are in charge of the upcoming assembly. In our gym students sit on one side and cheer on our classmates for assemblies, basketball games, academic, etc. We have decided to create a card studnt similar to those done in large stadiums for sporting events. We need to figure out how to do this accurately, because the school will not have information ahead of the assembly. We have 200 students and we want each of them to hold a card. I wonder how we can calculate this, make a design that works well for our school, and what materials we will need.
