Visibility of Series in the Web App:  In the Web App, patrons can view series or volume numbers in the Grid View. (This does not include Manga at this time.)


iPad Kiosk: You can update the iPad to iOS 17 - optional.  If you update, guided access will need to be reset.

Unmatched Patrons: You may be seeing teachers from previous years who are no longer at your building.  
You are still seeing former teachers because there are students with overdue books from previous years who were in their classes; presumably, they are students who have not returned for this school year and still have items. You can view the list of unmatched patrons (usually students or teachers who have left the school, so they are not found in the overnight sync) by clicking on the little red person icon in the action bar and selecting view list. You can decide how to handle these patrons and any items they have checked out by selecting all or some rows, then go to Actions > Delete Patrons. Deleting Patrons is optional. If this freaks you out, no worries - skip this for now.  Click here for all the things about Unmatched Patrons.



Check-In Screen - Check External Organizations: This is useful for the scenario where one of your patrons has visited another library and borrowed something from them directly (rather than using ILL). If the item is returned to your library, rather than the library where they borrowed it, you can scan it for return and then send it back. This should not replace the ILL process.

Create a Spreadsheet of Lost Books (or other copy status): When you do an Advanced Search in the Management App, My Catalog, you can convert the results into a spreadsheet in Google Sheets or Excel.

Request for a Print Screen for Overdues:

  • To print what a student has checked out, go to the Check-out screen and search for the patron. 
  • On the patron's record, click the drop-down arrow (right side of the screen) and choose Overdues.
  • Tick Print Preview > Continue. Click the Print icon on the Preview window (top left). Choose Universal Printer Redirect.  The local printer window will appear - follow the prompts.
  • Click the printer icon.

Checking out Patrons Not Assigned to Our School: You may need to check out an item to a patron from another building.  Use the External Patron feature.  Click here for details about External Patrons. 
 

Request for information about a returned book from another building:
When following the ILL process, you can view the steps from the ILL management screen (Management App > left sidebar - Management > Interloans). However, you cannot locate the copy record information about the title in your catalog.  Submit a BV Care ticket, and Becca can locate the information you need.  



We are cleaning up the system. To keep you updated, the following areas have been beautified.

*ILL Request adjusted for 90 days before expiring
*Depreciation for each book was set to 12.5% (What? Why? Not sure.) Changed to 0%.
*Web App will show the ebook URL, allowing for easier checkout.
*Ebook collection and type updated.
*Cleaning missing or incomplete call numbers.
*Sent the Write-off list for Fall Discards to the Business department.
