Happy Friday! We hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Cristy will begin popping into libraries over the next few weeks. Just a reminder that if you are teaching, please keep teaching! She is just stopping by to observe, touch base, etc. If you are not there, she will come by another time. She is looking forward to seeing all of the great things happening in our awesome libraries! 

All administrator meetings should be completed by today. Cristy will be sending out a follow up survey later next week for feedback on the process. Your feedback is important to making sure you have the information you need and your administrators have the information they need. Hopefully, all of these went great!  

Interloans and Overdues
Accessit does not include Interloan checkouts on overdue letters or slips ☹️. They think this is a great idea, and it is currently a Feature Request.  As a workaround, please see the directions below to send notices to students who have Interloans. 

The directions allow you to narrow the overdue list to only students who have Interloans. However, the letter includes all the books the student has checked out.  The letter mentions that the highlighted book(s) belong to another school.  Before sending the list to students, please go through it and highlight the borrowed book(s). If you do not wish to highlight the book(s), there is another option listed in the directions.

Interloans - Please Accept or Deny

Please ACCEPT or DENY any request in the Management app in a timely manner.  Requests from other buildings should be resolved within two days.  

This allows library staff to plan the next step if all schools deny the request. It also allows schools to clean up their Interloan records of past requests.   

Book Creator through Classlink 

We would like your feedback regarding the Book Creator link in Classlink.  The current link takes students to a generic login that requires students to enter a username and password. 

Is anyone currently using this link? If so, please let Becca know.  

The Digital Resources Team would like to remove it and use a different link that allows students to click "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Microsoft" - a faster way to log in.

Vooks (Elementary)

Vooks is a newer resource provided by the State of Kansas as part of its digital resources. Students and staff have access to Vooks inside the MackinVia app in Classlink.  Since many schools may have purchased different MackinVia titles, the interface may look different at each school to locate Vooks. 

Vooks listing looks like a book.   You can have students search for Vooks in the top corner search box if you do not see it when scrolling through the book titles. If you don't see it initially, you may need to change the Explore option in the top, left corner to Explore All.

*I am working with MackinVia for another way to access Vooks that is fewer clicks and easier to find.
