Happy Friday! Here we go...
District-approved image and music sites: Liz Chopp shared this district document with approved image and music websites. This might be a time-saver for any digital projects.
Holds and ILL: Holds expire after 90 days. ILL requests do not expire. See the directions below for cleaning up your ILL requests. (We will soon be able to cancel ILL requests - it is in development, and we hope to be ready for the next update.)
Clean Up ILL and Holds
Since we are nearing the end of the semester, it might be a good time to clean up your ILL and Holds list.
Go to the Management App > Management (left sidebar) > Interloans.
Choose Our Requests.
Once you get to the list, click on the heading - Current Status - to sort requests.
Any item that says complete, you can delete. Highlight the item(s) - go to Actions (top) > Permanently Delete Interloans.
Double-check that you don’t have anything that says Accepted - you may need to make sure you accept the request and choose an organization to request the item. Not wanting to keep the ILL? Send the Request ID # to Becca in a ticket. See screenshot for where to find the Request ID#.
Do you notice any older requests that say the "Lending agency has received the request"?
If it hasn’t been filled and you want removed from your list, send the ILL request ID to Becca (in a BV Care ticket) for removal.* See screenshot for where to find the Request ID#.
Now, go to External Requests. Sort by Current Status by clicking the heading.
Any item completed may be removed. (Actions > Permanently Delete Interloans)
Double-click to open requests that say Accepted or Received. Choose Accept or Decline and follow the process.
Items that you declined can be removed. (Actions > Permanently Delete Interloans)
Holds
Management App > Management (left sidebar) > Holds & Bookings > Holds
Click the Status heading in the top gray area to sort.
Items that are listed as complete may be removed. Highlight items > Actions (top) > Permanently delete holds.
Items listed as expired may be removed as well. Highlight items > Actions (top) > Permanently delete holds.
Items that are pending are waiting on the book to be returned. Do not remove.
You can also remove a hold by going to the catalog. Search for the book title. Double-click to open.
On the resource record, scroll to Holds - click to expand. You can delete the holds on the title.
*Renewals: To quickly renew a book, use quick keys. Press Command (Control on a PC) and R on your keyboard. The renewal page will appear.
*Overdues: We received feedback that asked for an overdue letter that doesn't state another patron needs the book. Click here to view the standard overdue letter. If your letter does not look like this, please let us know by submitting a ticket. Click here for the overdue training video detailing printing overdue slips and letters. For MS/HS, you can send emails as well.
