Happy Friday! We look forward to seeing everyone at OMS next Friday, October 11th!
Cristy emailed each librarian today a specific link to a shared Google Drive folder. This folder is shared with only you and provides building information. It is a way for Cristy and me to place specific materials and for you to add particular information about your library. Right now, you will find a folder for Quarterly Reports and a database file.
Database File: This file is a repository of district database links, each with your building's username and password or a district username/password. Any changes or updates to these links or authentication methods will be reflected here. Please note that the first portion of the spreadsheet is not editable as the information is imported from another spreadsheet.
Please take a few minutes to add database subscriptions for your building in the other section.
(Look for the area that says Info Goes Here. This information will sync with a master spreadsheet.)
I have been in communication with each vendor to find the correct information. If you have any questions or notice any issues with the district database information, please let me know.
Dashboard Update:
New Feature! You can change the News Item's color to make the box stand out. To do so, go to your Dashboard/Web App and log in with your Circ Account.
*Go to Manager options (left) > toggle on Edit and Manage Dashboards.
*Select Manage Dashboards and Themes> Edit Theme or New Theme to create a new look.
*Under Manage Dashboards and Themes pop-up, look at the bottom for Theme.
You can choose to edit a current theme or add a new one—the steps are the same either way.
*If new, enter a theme name. Under News Item Header Background Colour, click one of the provided colors OR enter another color by adding its “hex” code. To find a color and code, go to the Color Picker site.
*Once you find a color, look at the Hex code # and copy/paste it into the theme color box.

Libguides: Add Font Awesome Icons to your Boxes
Help the boxes on your Libguides pages stand out by adding an icon.
*Visit the Font Awesome site to find an icon you want to add. (Font Awesome 4 works better than 5, so use this link—if it prompts you to update to 5, ignore the prompt.). Click to open the icon you want.
*On the icon page, copy the provided code.
*Go to your Libguide. Create a new box on a libguide or open an existing box.
*Click the pencil to edit the existing box.
*Paste the code in the box title. Add any text after the code.
*Click Save. Your icon should now appear in the title area of the box.
