National Parks Project - Field Bio: Home

Assignment Guidelines

You have been assigned a National Park to research. You will ultimately create a presentation as well as a prop related to your park - we will talk about this at a later date.

For your research, you need to use a minimum of three sources. These sources must be:

  • Your park's website
  • One database
  • One source of your choosing (can be database or website)

We will use Noodletools to create a Works Cited page - this is a requirement! Remember a website URL is not a works cited entry! You must create this in Noodletools. Ask a librarian for help if you need it.

You will research the following information about your park:

  1. Location and size of park (with picture and/or map)
  2. Who founded the park?  What is the story behind the founding?
  3. Predominant TOPOGRAPHY of park (with pictures)
  4. At least three main ATTRACTIONS of park (with pictures)
  5. At least three examples of common VEGETATION in park (with pictures)
  6. At least three examples of common WILDLIFE in park (with pictures)
  7. What threats are impacting your park?
  8. What preservation efforts are happening in your park?
  9. An event that occurred in your park that made the news - this can be a fun or serious event and can be a past or current event

This project is worth a total of 100 points. Look on Canvas for the point break-down.
