Show its strength and power Comic Book Style!

Task: Your assignment is to research a synthetic material and make it the synthetic superhero of the year!

Project Calendar:

Wednesday, January 15th: Introduction, Noodletools and LibGuide

Thursday, January 16th: Continue research/citing. Create superhero.

Friday, January 17th: Research wrap up and create character and start comic

Tuesday, January 21st: Create character and comic book

Wednesday, January 22nd: Create character and comic book

1. I can gather and evaluate information to describe how synthetic materials come from natural resources.

2. I can evaluate how synthetic materials impact human society.

3. I can identify and describe physical characteristics of synthetic materials.

4. I can research information and summarize it in my own words.

5. I can use and cite sources in Noodle Tools.

6. I can apply technology to my learning in a new way.

Include at least 6 detailed notecards, one for each category:

Physical Characteristics & picture of the molecule (color, odor, hardness, strength, melting & boiling point, malleability, conductivity, etc.) (5 points)
Origins - Process of how it is made, background (5 points)
How it’s used (5 points)
Advantages (5 points)
Limitations/Disadvantages (cost, environmental impact, decomposition rate, are there natural resources to make it, etc.) (5 points)
Impact on Society/Why it’s important (5 points)

*You will also need 4 important vocabulary words and definitions found in your research! (1 point each)

Each notecard will include:

Title: Title it the category above.
Direct Quote: Copy and Paste important information here. (at least 2-3 facts)
Paraphrase/Summarize: Put the information in your own words, explain what it means, or why it is important to this assignment.
My Ideas: What are some brainstorming ideas of how you plan to include this in your comic strip?
