Day 1: Survivor Testimonies

Day 1: Peer Conversations

*Take notes on your peer's survivor the back of your reflection sheet!

Share the following about your survivor with your partner:

  • Name / birth place
  • Details of life before the war
  • Where survivor ended up / experience during the war
  • What stuck with you the most after listening to the survivor's story?

After sharing the above about each survivor, discuss the following with your partner:

  • What were some similarities in experiences of each survivor?
  • How did the Holocaust affect each survivor differently?

Day 2 Document and Resources

Three Paragraph Reflection

You will write a 3 paragraph reflection on what you have learned about the Holocaust throughout the course of this week.

Paragraph #1: Summary and analysis of your survivor's story (must be 4-5 sentences).

Paragraph #2: Summary and analysis of your Day 2 research, or broader context of the Holocaust as it relates to your survivor's story (must be 4-5 sentences).

Paragraph #3: Summary and analysis of your peer conversation, comparing how different individuals experienced the Holocaust in different ways. Must include a reflection on what is the most important thing you think students today should know about the Holocaust (must be 5-6 sentences).

This reflection will be completed and submitted on Canvas. You will also submit your Day 2 document from the libguide, as well as your Day 1 survivor's sheet/peer conversation to your teacher. These 3 things together will form your complete grade for this project.
