Assignment Guidelines

Click here to view the author you chose.

For this assignment, you will choose a diverse YA author to research. You will use NoodleTools to compile your sources as well as organize your information. You must use at least two sources for this project.

Your research must answer the following questions:

  1. Find an interview with your author. What do you learn? What inspires them to write?
  2. Of the books the author has written, choose one that is really impactful. What themes does this story bring up/explore?
  3. In their personal life, what is this author an advocate for? How can you see evidence of this?
  4. What is your author's opinion on censorship / self-expression? If you can't find this, find one modern day author whose views on censorship align with your own thoughts.

Need help outside of class on this assignment? Don't forget you can use the "Ask a Librarian" button located on the right side of your LibGuide M-F, 7:40-2:50 (or pop into the library) or you can send Mrs. Bowlin a Canvas message after 2:50.
