Poverty is more than people not having basic resources at a specific moment in time (food, shelter, etc).  Living in poverty can impact people in a variety of ways in both the short term and long term. 

Research the answers to the following questions and provide sources and examples with your responses.

What impact does poverty have on the education of kids?

You will compare the economic statistics for the following schools in Kansas: Wyandotte High School, Blue Valley Southwest, Osawatomie, and Shawnee Mission North High school.  What percentages of kids receive free and reduced lunch?  What percentage of kids met the state standard in reading, and math?    

You get to determine how you want to present the information. 

Using the data, you found what conclusions did you come up with relative to income and education.
