Greece Project
Directions: Choose one of the following topics for your Greece Project. Read the directions, and begin researching using the provided links for your chosen topic. Additional research may be needed.
This column includes topics that relate to the following learning target: Students will understand the causes and motivations of conflict within Ancient Greece.
Directions: Make a model of a Greek warship based on your research of the various kinds of ships of the period and explain how the sea influenced Greek military conflicts.
Research:
Directions: Make a poster and a map of military conquest in Ancient Greece, and use them to explain the characteristics of Greek soldiers, the phalanx, and Alexander the Great’s conquests.

Directions: Dress up like a Greek warrior. Research and explain the uniform, weapons, and military techniques.

Directions: Create a play about Spartan life. Focus on how life differs from today and Spartan emphasis on fitness and military training.

Directions: Research Socrates and the Socratic dialogue. Then write a one-to-two page example of it. You might perform your dialogue with a small group.
