Assignment Overview
Students will work together in pairs to create a Comic Book showing the changes between the Paleolithic Period and the Neolithic Period.
Assignment Objectives
Students will be able to compare and contrast the Old Stone Age with the New Stone Age-Neolithic and Paleolithic time periods.
Instructions
Creating a Comic Book
You are going to create a Comic Book with your learning partner. You can either do it digitally or on paper. If digitally, you will both submit these in each of your respective Canvas pages. Be sure all names are on your project.
You will use the following information as guidelines to complete your assignment. You may use paper, Google Slides or some other digital format. You may even animate your project if you know how to do that.
Create a comic book about life in the Neolithic Age.
Use the characters of Neolithic Nel and Neolithic Nick to tell a story about how ways of life changed over time, from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic Age.
Cover Page
- Your comic book needs a colorful cover page with a title and drawings of the main characters, Nel and Nick.
- Color and add creative touches to Comic-Book Cover Template or create your own cover page.
Story Pages
- The inside of the comic book should have three story pages.
- Each story page will be related to one of the topics you studied (food supply, shelter, community, jobs, or trade).
- Select the three topics you think represent the most important changes from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic Age.
- Use the comic-book Story Page Template, or create your own story pages.
- At the top of each story page, write one or two sentences that describe life during the Paleolithic Age.
- Write informative speech or thought bubbles for the characters. Two bubbles should explain ways that life changed in the Neolithic Age, and two should explain why these changes are important.
Be creative, but realistic.
This is worth 20 points and is due Monday, September 9 by 11:59 pm. Remember, everyone in your group needs to submit it.
Follow these steps:
- Use screen capture from Comic-Book Characters Template.
- Write informative speech or thought bubbles for the characters. Two bubbles should explain ways that life changed in the Neolithic Age, and two should explain why these changes are important.
- Add your own drawings or import drawings of other animals, objects, and scenery.
- Add other details to make your comic book more realistic.
