Age of Exploration - Primary Sources: Home

What is a primary source?

Databases provide a lot of information.  Make sure you are choosing a primary source.  How can you tell the difference?

The sources are first-hand accounts from individuals during that time period.

Examples:

   Journal or diary

   Photographs

   Newspaper clipping from that date

   Laws or major text

Make sure you are not using an encyclopedia article or reference article that explains the topic.
