Book Trailers: Book Trailer Examples

Planning Your Project

  • Does it make the audience curious about the book?  Is it persuasive and compelling?
  • Is text clear and easy to read from a distance?  Is there enough time to read text?
  • Do the transitions make sense?
  • Does the music (if used) match the tone/mood/theme?  Does it end abruptly or fade out?
  • Does the music overwhelm the video? Make sure it is not too loud!
  • Do the graphics fit the tone of the book?
  • Does it grab the audience's attention?
  • Are your image/video/audio sources cited?
  • Did you include the "Educational Fair Use" Statement?
  • Does it address the key points on your learning rubric

Analyze!

Watch some of the booktrailers on this site.  Analyze their content.  How effective are they?  What are their strengths and weaknesses?  Which books do you want to read?  You will notice that some of these are professionally produced while others are fan-made or student-made.
