Literature

Determine a theme or central idea of a text and
how it is conveyed through particular details;
provide a summary of the text distinct from
personal opinions or judgments.

Compare and contrast texts in different forms or
genres (e.g., stories and poems; historical novels
and fantasy stories) in terms of their approaches
to similar themes and topics.

Writing

Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a
topic and convey ideas, concepts, and information
through the selection, organization, and analysis
of relevant content.

Produce clear and coherent writing in which
the development, organization, and style are
appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Make strategic use of digital media (e.g., textual, graphical, audio, visual, and
interactive elements) in presentations to enhance understanding of findings,
reasoning, and evidence and to add interest.

The Assignment

Welcome Knights of Literary Reads!  For this assignment, you will take a deeper look at what type of reader you are and create a reader's profile.  You will create a Like, Try, Why poster to advertise knew reads that will interest you and some of your fellow knights.  Also, you will conduct research on an author of your choosing.  You will share all of this information in a Smore presentation.  In the end, you will have a stronger knowledge of how to find the right book and where to find more information on an author you enjoy!
