ELA 9: Mythology

Learning Targets

  • I can conduct short research based on assigned topic.
  • I can focus my research around a mythological figure to show how he/she relates to the Odyssey.
  • I can choose several sources and synthesize information about my assigned topic.
  • I can follow MLA format for citation to create a Works Cited page for sources that I paraphrased or quoted in my project.
  • I can present information using digital media in a clear, concise, and logical manner.

Database Off-Campus Passwords

Day 1

1. Go over assignment guidelines.

2. Set up Noodletools project, review sources, and cite sources in Noodletools.  

3. Begin notes.

Day 2

1.  Finish notes at beginning of class and begin creating presentation.

  • How to export Works Cited page from Noodletools
    • TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR WORKS CITED (Cmd+Shift+4).  THIS WILL GO AT THE END OF YOUR VIDEO.  ANY URLS FROM ADDITIONAL PICTURES FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES WILL BE ADDED TO A NEW DOCUMENT AND ALSO SCREENSHOTTED TO PUT AT THE END OF YOUR VIDEO.

HOMEWORK: Notes and exported Works Cited should be done by the beginning of class 11/16 or 11/17.

2. Explore technology options.

Day 3

1. Finalize all touches on your project.

2. When completed, export technology and submit to Canvas.   

HOMEWORK: Submit your presentation Canvas. Be prepared to present your projects!
