The University of Pennsylvania Libraries created this website to help students determine what source types work best for the type of information they need.
This presentation by the San Francisco State University provides tips on how to search for books and articles.
The second step in our research process is locating information.
First, you need to decide what type of information you need.
Next, you need to decide what kind of source will give you that type of information.
This page contains links not only to the sources themselves, but to material that can help guide you to the correct source type.
This website presents information about evaluating websites for use as a research resource. Towards the bottom it describes the CARS (Credibility, Accuracy, Reasonableness, and Support) checklist for evaluating a source.
Need to access these resources from home? You can! Go to the main library page http://www.bvswlmc.com and click the Passwords button. Type in the password located in your student planner on page 21. You should then see all passwords to all the resources.
