Directions: 1 resource (a good starting point) is provided for you below. Find your person's name and start there. At the bottom of this libguide, there is a list of additional databases to use for additional research! You are required to use a minimum of 3 sources total, throughout the whole project. Do NOT use google. For any additional research, you MUST use the approved databases listed below.
You will use NoodleTools to cite your sources, and keep notes while researching. Use these helpful NoodleTools links and videos!
RESEARCH REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 3 sources.
- Cite each source in NoodleTools (ALL the sources you use)
- Create a Notecard "Pile" for each event (You will complete research for 9 or the 15 events discussed throughout the project, so you will have 9 total piles.)
- Each pile will need 1 or more notecards (1 for every source used to research that topic.)
- Each notecard will need...
- Title: Title it the event # and notecard # (Example: Event 2 Notecard 1)
- Linked source: Link the source you are using to compete this notecard. (You have to have added this source to NoodleTool first.)
- Direct Quotation: Copy and paste important information from the source. (You can also copy and paste an image here if using an image.)
- Paraphrase or Summary:
- If your quote was a direct quote from your person (meaning your person directly said or wrote that), simply state that here.
- If it was not something your person said, but a description or adaptation, paraphrase or summarize here what they MIGHT have said.
- My Ideas: Explain in your own words with original thinking here. How does this fit with your assignment? Were your person's general feelings of this event or topic positive or negative? Why is this important? What impact did this have on the Civil War?
