Happy Friday! We hope you had a great week!

I now have access to set up State Library eCards, and if anyone would like an account, I can assist with the setup. I can also add students and staff as requested.  Put in a BV Care ticket for the request.

Patrons - Two Things:

1. Older Accounts: When we migrated from SIRSI, all patron accounts moved over to Accessit.  Initially, patrons no longer in your building may have been unmatched borrowers, but they now show up in your records with all patrons.  You have access to delete any patron no longer in your building if they do not have books or charges on their accounts.

  • Go to Patrons > Locate the patron - search or scan
  • Highlight to select the patron(s)
  • Actions > Delete Patron
  • If the patron has a charge or book on their account, you will be notified and asked to remove or leave the book/charges. If the patron is from way back in time and you know you will not get the book, mark the book as lost and remove the patron.

2. Paras, Classified Staff, Contract Employees, and Preschool:  These roles are not in the “Roster Server” that syncs with Accessit each evening.  You can manually add a patron to Accessit if they fall into this category.  Click here for directions.  Reach out if you have any questions.

PebbleGo:  The Digital Management Team has received many tickets regarding PebbleGo issues this week for students and staff. They have been able to resolve the majority of these issues by having users clear their browser settings in Chrome (make sure it is set to 'All Time') and restart their computers.  If the fix does not work, please try it again and make sure the time is set to All Time.

Other things to double-check -

Chrome Update - make sure in Chrome's top right corner, there is no Update button. If there is, update Chrome.

Check other websites to make sure they are working.  (My go-to is the ESPN website because it has a ton of videos and text on the screen - and typically, it isn't cached on the computer.) If there is a problem with other sites, it could be another issue.

The Digital Resources Team has also reached out to PebbleGo to let them know of the issues - the fix above was their suggestion as well, as they see it fully functional on their servers.

Please reach out if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Back again, highlighting apps on the student iPad carts.

Cricut Design Space
If your library owns a Cricut in your Makerspace or other area, you can utilize the Cricut app and connect to the Cricut via Bluetooth.

*Cricut does require a login to use.  Must be 13 and up to create an account.

Cricut for Schools: Cricut's site for teachers with project ideas, etc.

How to Create a Sticker: Popular activity with the Cricut. Students can create a sticker in Canva and print/cut it on the Cricut.

The Constitution and The Declaration Apps
Not a super fancy layout, but the two apps provide what they say - text to the Constitution and The Declaration of Independence.  In addition, they provide information about each ‘signer’ and the famous painting.
